Goodness, it's almost twelve months since I last posted anything on this thread!
Bank Top Yard is more or less finished now and hasn't been used for quite some time. She's safe and well and I'll continue to use her in the future as and when. She is rather bulky and does take up more space than I imagined in the house so for now she is in safe storage.
She'll probably get more usage when the Austerity tanks come out from Accurascale; they do look lovely and I have three of these on order, one of which is the limited edition 'Wilbert' for Accurascale's push to help get the real locomotive back in steam at the Dean Forest Railway.
Modelling has taken a back seat for a while now. I have been ill of late and needed to have open heart surgery almost 4 weeks ago now. I last had this done when I was 15 years old so some parts of the recovery process I had forgotten about. I'm getting better and stronger again as the weeks go by but the natural aches and pains are present a lot at the moment. Being off work to recover has given me time to start to reawaken the modelling mojo though and it was lovely to receive Rapido's 44xx tank when I returned home. I'd had this on order for some time.
I gave her a run in yesterday at Taunton Model Railway Club and here she is posed on our Bath Green Park layout. I had her weathered beforehand and I spent time last week adding some detailing to her including coal, crew, lamps and number plates on the cabside and smokebox door. The number plates come with the model which is a nice touch that these smaller manufacturers provide. She runs like a sewing machine too with some superb crawling.
She may make an appearance eventually on Bank Top, simmering away in a siding in between shunting duties.
